
Morning Star Grand Chapter was established in June 2012 as the brainchild of Past Worthy Matron Victoria Dennis. Once developed and adopted, a Charter was issued and signed by Grand Master Edward Sharp of Most Worshipful Enoch Grand Lodge, Cleveland, OH AF & AM on April 21, 2013.
In August 2020, Past Worthy Matron Deltrise Sanford was appointed to continue the success of Morning Star Grand Chapter as the Grand Matron. Following this, at the Grand Session in December 2020, Grand Matron Deltrise Sanford was formally elected to serve as Grand Matron for 2021-2023, working alongside Grand Master Raymond Smith. Under her visionary guidance, Morning Star Grand Chapter maintained a strong presence throughout the Greater Cleveland area, building and cultivating several relationships with community partners. Morning Star Grand Chapter, along with our fraternal brothers of MW Enoch Grand Lodge, travels and supports all jurisdictions, chapters, and lodges. We have consistently received high praise and accolades from our fellow brother and sister chapters and lodges within the Order of the Eastern Star.
In June 2025, Associate Grand Matron Rosalind Sharp was appointed and installed as Grand Matron of Morning Star Grand Chapter. Under her leadership, the membership of Morning Star Grand Chapter continued to grow, reinforcing our commitment to the sisterhood values that bind us together.
On December 13, 2025, Associate Grand Matron Kathy Sanford was elected as Grand Matron of Morning Star Grand Chapter, and Associate Matron Joyce Thomas was elected as Associate Grand Matron. On this day, both were installed and vowed to strengthen the sisterhood within Morning Star Grand Chapter while upholding the values and principles of the Order of the Eastern Star alongside elected Grand Master James McCann of MW Enoch Grand Lodge. Morning Star Grand Chapter, Cleveland, Ohio, Order of the Eastern Star, will forever cultivate this sisterhood, as we remain reminded of our duties to God, our country, and our sisters and brothers. We will continue to effectuate the virtues of Truth, Faith in a Higher Being, Wisdom, Benevolence/Charity, and Loving Kindness. As Past Grand Matron Deltrise Sanford would always say, 'Ain’t No Stoppin Us Now...'
